Post #11: You Need Soap Suds On The Internet

As I was out washing my car today, something came to me that is SO obvious, but I just haven't expressed it in my trainings yet…until now!

Let me explain. If you've ever washed your car, you know to get a bucket, sponge, hose, soap, etc. One thing you MUST see when you do this is soap suds, right? You want suds over-flowing in the bucket and you want suds all over the car, right? If you don't see suds, you assume the car isn't getting clean. The more suds the better!

The same thing with your Internet Business, whatever it is. People want to see visuals. People what to see "suds". But what are these "suds" in your Internet Business?

They are not fancy fly in from the side of the screen gizmos. They are not pop-up ads that come up as someone is on your website.
People want to see YOU! They want to see you doing something on the internet. After all, you're the expert, right?

But just as suds are to soap (you don't need suds to make the soap work, it works just as good without suds, but the "I can see the soap" isn't there, so the perception is it doesn't work), YOU need to be visible on the internet for others to see what you do.

What do I mean by being visible? Are you writing articles? Are you corresponding with others in your field? Are you in constant contact with your list? These kinds of things are the "suds" to your Internet Business. The more the suds, the better the soap works. Get the analogy?

This is a great analogy – it's so true that people think the soap or shampoo isn't working if they don't see a lot of suds and bubbles. Thanks for the fun image to keep in mind so I can remember to be Bubbly!
